Western Methodist Justice Movement has worked to build strong relationships with United Methodist partners in the UMC in Africa. This has allowed them to understand our ministry context, and us to understand theirs.

Continuing that conversation, WMJM is hosting a webinar on Saturday, May 31 at 10 am Pacific Time with leaders from the Nigeria and Liberia Episcopal areas in West Africa to hear from local voices about challenges they are facing today, including:

  • Violence by GMC towards UMC members, including recent killing in Nigeria,

  • Court battles over UMC properties which prevent UMC from episcopal headquarters, churches,

  • Energy and vibrancy of UMC members and churches in the midst of all these challenges, and

  • Possibilities for mission partnerships.

Presenters in the webinar include Bishop Ande Emmanuel of Nigeria and Rev. Caleb Dormah of Liberia.
