Jan Lawrence photo

Jan, her wife Lindi, and their Welsh Terrier Higgins split their time between Rome, GA and Washington, D.C. (Mostly in GA lately because of the pandemic but they maintain membership at Foundry United Methodist Church in DC.) Jan and Lindi met at Wesleyan College in Macon, GA, where Jan is the President of the Alumnae Association.

Jan is passionate about justice, equity, and inclusion in the Church and the world. She has been the Executive Director at RMN since 2017. It has been an interesting time to be the ED at RMN given what has happened in both The United Methodist Church and the World since 2017. Her focus is on ensuring that RMN partners with others in the denomination to build a church that values justice and equity and continuously works towards it.

Before RMN, Jan spent 35 years working for Harris Corporation in Engineering and Program Management.

Her experiences of harm in the Church drive her passion for a Church that models Jesus’ example of love and focus on marginalized peoples.
