Health Equity

Western Methodist Justice Movement is responding to the many rapid and distressing changes coming from the presidential administration by monitoring and reporting on threats, both nationally and in individual states, to reproductive freedom and gender affirming care.

There are at least a dozen lawsuits pending in various federal courts seeking to protect transgender rights threatened by presidential executive orders, including access to gender affirming care. In most of these cases, courts have issued temporary restraining orders or preliminary injunctions, halting their implementation.
Following suit, many state governments have enacted new bans or more severe restrictions on abortion and gender affirming care.
