(The afternoon before the Western Jurisdictional Conference begins)

Join other WMJM members and justice seekers from around the Western Jurisdiction for a time to reconnect and support each other in our efforts for social justice. We will be looking at what it means to have a heart for mission and justice and what it means to carry out the prophetic statements that the Western Jurisdiction has made.

2:00 - Opening gathering: Keynote, WMJM update, conversation time, etc.

3:45 - Creation Care in the Local Church
4:45 - Regather to share justice plans for the Western Jurisdiction
5:00 - Closing and carpools to hotels

Our Keynote Speaker

Billie K. Fidlin

Desert Southwest Conference

Pronouns: she/her

Billie K. Fidlin recently retired as Director of Outreach & Justice for the Desert Southwest Conference after serving 25 years. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University and attended Claremont School of Theology for religious studies.

Ms. Fidlin currently serves as the President of the Arizona Faith Network in her second term, is President & Founder of Whisper n Thunder Inc., and sits on various boards including Gina’s Team, and the Justa Center.

Her awards include the UM Foundation for Evangelism 2004 Distinguished Evangelist; 2016 Church Women United / United Nations Human Rights Award; 2018 Servant Leader Award AZ Faith Network; 2022 Southern Poverty Law Center Certificate of Recognition; and 2022-23 Class of Who's Who in America. Her greatest passion is teaching leadership at Perryville Women’s Prison, which she has done for many, many years. In that same light, she is a regular advocate at the state legislature regarding justice issues and incarcerated women working closely with the Department of Corrections and Director Ryan Thornell. She is a regular presence at the AZ State Legislature and has been asked to run for a seat in the next cycle. We shall see... :-)
